MARMARİS’TEKİ PİRAMİT MEZAR KORUMA ALTINA ALINIYOR

Türkiye’de ayakta kalan tek piramit tipli mezar olma özelliğini taşıyan Marmaris’teki tarihi anıt için koruma ve çevre düzenleme çalışmaları başlatıldı.

TARİHİ MİRAS İÇİN ORTAK ÇALIŞMA

Muğla’nın Marmaris ilçesine bağlı Turgut Mahallesi’nde bulunan ve bölgenin en önemli kültür varlıklarından biri olarak gösterilen Piramit Mezar için koruma ve çevre düzenleme çalışmaları başladı.
Marmaris Ticaret Odası (MTO) tarafından projelendirilen ve finansmanı karşılanan çalışmalar; Muğla Kültür Varlıklarını Koruma Bölge Kurulu’nun izniyle, Marmaris Müze Müdürlüğü’nün denetiminde ve Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi Arkeoloji Bölümü Öğretim Üyesi Doç. Dr. Mehmet Gürbüzer’in bilimsel danışmanlığında yürütülüyor.

HELENİSTİK DÖNEMDEN GÜNÜMÜZE

Helenistik Dönem’e tarihlenen piramit tipli anıt mezarın üzerindeki mermer levhada yer alan eski Yunanca yazıt, mezarın Diagoras ve eşi Aristomakha’ya ait olduğunu ortaya koyuyor. Mimari özellikleriyle oldukça nadir örneklerden biri olan yapı, Türkiye’de günümüze ulaşan tek piramit tipli mezar olmasıyla da dikkat çekiyor.

ÇEVRE DÜZENLEMESİ VE GÜVENLİK SAĞLANACAK

Çalışmalar kapsamında mezarın çevresindeki yoğun bitki örtüsü temizlenecek ve alanın güvenliği için koruma şeridi oluşturulacak. Ziyaretçilerin ulaşımını kolaylaştırmak amacıyla yürüyüş güzergâhı ve basamaklar yapılacak, bilgilendirme tabelaları yerleştirilecek. Ayrıca güvenliği artırmak amacıyla fotokapan ve kamera sistemi kurulacak, aydınlatma çalışmalarıyla anıt mezar gece saatlerinde de görünür hale getirilecek.

“GELECEK NESİLLERE AKTARACAĞIZ”

Marmaris Ticaret Odası Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Mutlu Ayhan, Marmaris’in tarihi ve kültürel mirasını koruyarak gelecek nesillere aktarmayı hedeflediklerini belirterek projeye katkı sağlayan tüm kurum ve ekiplere teşekkür etti.

THE ONLY STANDING PYRAMID TOMB IN TURKIYE TO BE PROTECTED IN MARMARİS

Preservation and environmental improvement works have begun for the historic pyramid-shaped tomb in Marmaris, known as the only surviving pyramid-type tomb in Türkiye.

A JOINT EFFORT TO PROTECT HISTORICAL HERITAGE

Preservation and landscaping works have started for the Pyramid Tomb located in Turgut Neighborhood of Marmaris, Muğla, which is considered one of the region’s most important cultural assets.

The project, designed and financed by the Marmaris Chamber of Commerce (MTO), is being carried out with the permission of the Muğla Regional Board for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, under the supervision of the Marmaris Museum Directorate and with the scientific consultancy of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gürbüzer from the Department of Archaeology at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University.

FROM THE HELLENISTIC PERIOD TO THE PRESENT

The ancient Greek inscription on the marble slab of the pyramid-shaped monument tomb, dating back to the Hellenistic Period, reveals that the tomb belongs to Diagoras and his wife Aristomakha. With its architectural characteristics, the structure is considered a very rare example and attracts attention as the only pyramid-type tomb in Türkiye that has survived to the present day.

LANDSCAPING AND SECURITY MEASURES

As part of the works, dense vegetation around the tomb will be cleared and a protection zone will be established for the site’s security. Walking paths and steps will be built to facilitate visitor access, and information boards will be installed. In addition, camera traps and security cameras will be set up to enhance safety, while lighting works will make the monument tomb visible during nighttime.

Mutlu Ayhan, Chairman of the Board of the Marmaris Chamber of Commerce, stated that they aim to protect Marmaris’ historical and cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations, thanking all institutions and teams that contributed to the project.
