MUĞLA’DA YEREL EŞİTLİK İÇİN YENİ YOL HARİTASI

Muğla Büyükşehir Belediyesi, 2026–2029 Yerel Eşitlik Eylem Planı’nın lansmanını Türkan Saylan Çağdaş Yaşam Merkezi’nde gerçekleştirdi.

Kıyı Ege Belediyeler Birliği ve Muğla Büyükşehir Belediye Başkanı Ahmet Aras’ın ev sahipliğinde düzenlenen programda, önümüzdeki dört yılın eşitlik politikaları kamuoyuyla paylaşıldı.

Toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğini yerel yönetimin temel ilkelerinden biri olarak benimseyen plan; katılımın artırılması, şiddet ve ayrımcılıkla mücadele, bakım hizmetleri, ekonomik güçlenme, yoksullukla mücadele, barınma, ulaşım ve afetlere karşı dayanıklılık olmak üzere sekiz ana tema etrafında hazırlandı. Süreçte kadın örgütleri, STK’lar, akademisyenler ve yurttaşların katılımıyla toplantı ve çalıştaylar düzenlendi.

Plan ile kadınlar başta olmak üzere çocuklar, yaşlılar, engelliler ve LGBTİ+ bireyler için eşit, erişilebilir ve şiddetsiz bir kent yaşamı hedefleniyor.

Programda konuşan Başkan Ahmet Aras, elde edilen sonucun tüm kentin ortak emeği olduğunu vurgulayarak, “Yerel Eşitlik Planı raflarda kalmayacak. Muğla’da eşitlik bilincini yerleştirmek en temel hedefimizdir” dedi.

NEW ROADMAP FOR LOCAL EQUALITY IN MUĞLA

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality held the launch of the 2026–2029 Local Equality Action Plan at the Türkan Saylan Contemporary Life Center.

At the program hosted by Ahmet Aras, Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and President of the Union of Coastal Aegean Municipalities, the equality policies to be implemented over the next four years were shared with the public.

The plan, which adopts gender equality as one of the fundamental principles of local governance, was prepared around eight main themes: strengthening participation, combating violence and discrimination, care services, economic empowerment and employment, fighting poverty, housing, transportation, and resilience against disasters. During the preparation process, meetings and workshops were held with the participation of women’s organizations, NGOs, academics, and citizens.

Through the plan, the municipality aims to create an equal, accessible, and violence-free urban life for all citizens, especially women, as well as children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and LGBTI+ individuals.

In his speech, Mayor Ahmet Aras emphasized that this achievement is the collective effort of the entire city and stated, “The Local Equality Plan will not remain on the shelves. Our main goal is to embed a culture of equality in Muğla.”
