UCLG-MEWA KÜLTÜR VE TURİZM KOMİTESİ MUĞLA’DA TOPLANDI

Başkan Ahmet Aras’ın ev sahipliğinde Akyaka’da düzenlenen toplantıda, 65 kentten temsilciler kültür ve turizmin geleceğini, sürdürülebilirlik ve bölgesel iş birliği ekseninde değerlendirdi.

Dünya Belediyeler Birliği Ortadoğu ve Batı Asya Teşkilatı (UCLG-MEWA) Kültür ve Turizm Komitesi Başkanlık Divanı ve Komite Toplantısı, 7 Şubat’ta Muğla Büyükşehir Belediyesi ev sahipliğinde gerçekleştirildi. Toplantıya, Kıyı Ege Belediyeler Birliği ve Muğla Büyükşehir Belediye Başkanı Ahmet Aras, Komite Başkanı sıfatıyla başkanlık etti.

Akyaka’daki toplantıya Türkiye’nin yanı sıra Filistin, İran, Lübnan ve Ürdün’den yerel yönetim temsilcileri katılırken, 65 üye kent de çevrim içi olarak programa dahil oldu. UCLG yetkilileri ve komite eş başkanları da toplantıda yer aldı.

Hibrit formatta düzenlenen buluşmada; kültür politikalarının yerel yönetişimle ilişkisi, sürdürülebilir turizm, destinasyon yönetimi ve kültürel diplomasinin yerel kalkınmaya etkileri ele alındı. 2022–2025 dönemi faaliyetleri değerlendirilirken, 2026 sonrası için sürdürülebilir kalkınma, dijitalleşme ve mavi ekonomi odaklı stratejik öncelikler belirlendi.

UCLG-MEWA CULTURE AND TOURISM COMMITTEE CONVENED IN MUĞLA

Hosted by Mayor Ahmet Aras in Akyaka, representatives from 65 member cities discussed the future of culture and tourism with a focus on sustainability and regional cooperation.

The Presidency Board and Committee Meeting of the UCLG-MEWA Culture and Tourism Committee was held on February 7 under the hosting of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality. The meeting was chaired by Ahmet Aras, Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and President of the Kıyı Ege Municipalities Union, in his capacity as Chair of the Committee.

In addition to participants from Türkiye, local government representatives from Palestine, Iran, Lebanon and Jordan attended the meeting, while 65 member cities followed the program online. UCLG officials and committee co-chairs were also among the participants.

Held in a hybrid format, the meeting addressed the relationship between cultural policies and local governance, sustainable tourism, destination management, and the role of cultural diplomacy in local development. While reviewing the activities carried out between 2022–2025, strategic priorities for the post-2026 period were identified, focusing on sustainable development, digitalization and the blue economy.
